 Fishing

The BWCA is a federally designated wilderness area known around the world as a bucket-list, freshwater fishing destination. In fact, the National Geographic lists the BWCA as one of the top 50 places to see in the world. Here you will find a rare opportunity to see pristine, wild country, untouched by development.

Access into the BWCA allowed by permit only and no motorized equipment is allowed. Camping is primitive. Amenities include a fire grate and latrine.

Fishing pressure is reduced because motors are not allowed within the Boundary Waters. Although you might catch an occasional trout, perch or bluegill, the most common species include Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass and Walleye.

Our Mission

Whetstone exists to glorify God in our calling to service.

We take opportunities to minister as they become available. Outdoor wilderness adventures are one of our core services. We also provide teaching, preaching, camps, fishing trips, family camps, construction skills camp, canoe paddle workshops are some of the ways we minister.

We attempt to build men up in a world that tears men down and destroys families. The Bible is taught to encourage men in their calling as Christian fathers and husbands.
Whetstone uses the outdoors “classroom” to encourage men in their relationships with God and with their families.
